About us

We are a family owned diner located in Jamaica Plain MA. We opened our doors in 1974. John Ioakimidis came from Greece few years earlier looking to achieve his own American Dream of owning his own restaurant and providing a good life for his family. Now 40 years later his son George Ioakimidis and grandson John Ioakimidis continue to achieve this dream he had.
For 40 years we have been providing top ingredients at a fair price and look to continue this standard John Ioakimidis set for years to come.

Boston Globe

After testing hundreds of meatballs from 45 shops and restaurants from around the city, the trilogy of the meatball sub sandwich is complete. It started three years ago when our editor asked, "Is there really a great meatball sub out there?" Our Winner: Forest Hills Diner, A small family-owned breakfast and lunch type restaurant across the street from the Forest Hills MBTA station. George Ioakimidis serves a great meatball, his mothers recipe. Fresh ground beef with minced onions, green peppers and a hint of oregano. The tomato sauce is special too, with sweet green peppers, onion and oregano with a little oil, sugar and cinnamon. He uses a good French bread from Quinzano's.
